Empleo de nematodos entomopatógenos (Heterorhabditis spp.) como contribución al manejo integrado de Diaphania hyalinata (L.) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) en el cultivo del pepino en sistemas de organopónicos

En el organopónico "Las Celias", entre los meses de enero de 2003 a junio de 2004, por dos años consecutivos, se realizaron 7 tratamientos con nematodos entomopatógenos para controlar a Diaphania hyalinata (L.) (Lepidoptera; Pyralidae) en el cultivo del pepino (Cucumis sativus L.). En este sistema el pepino se intercaló con acelga (Beta vulgaris L.) y lechuga (Lactuca sativa L.). Los nematodos entomopatógenos son un medio biológico efectivo en condiciones de organopónicos para controlar a D. hyalinata aunque no realizaron un control sobre el huevo de la plaga. Los tratamientos de mejores rendimientos de pepino fueron PE-2M y CIAP-DEY-6 con 1,18 y 1,16 kg/mE2, respectivamente. En el segundo año los rendimientos fueron superiores a los 2 kg/mE2. Los tratamientos biológicos no presentaron diferencias significativas entre ellos pero sí con respecto a los químicos. La biodiversidad en el sistema se incrementó en el segundo año de sembrado el cultivo como resultado de la disminución de aplicaciones químicas en el mismo. Es factible económicamente el empleo de nematodos en el control de esta plaga.

In "Las Celias" organoponic, among the months of January of the 2003 to June of the 2004, for two years they were carried out 7 treatments, with entomopathogenic nematode for control Diaphania hyalinata (L.) (Lepidoptera; Pyralidae) in cucumber crop (Cucumis sativus L.). In this system the cucumber was intercrop with Beta vulgaris L. and Lactuca sativa L. They were sowed of cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.), cameras of 78,33 mE2, Beta vulgaris L., always was associated with the main crop. In the second year it was inserted with Lactuca sativa L. The entomopathogenic nematode showed a very good biological effective under organopónicos conditions to control D. hyalinata, although they didn't carry out a control on the egg of this pest. The treatments of better yields of cucumber were PE-2M and CIAP-DEY-6 respectively with 1,18 and 1,16 kg/mE2. In the second year these yields went superior to the 2 kg/mE2. The biological treatments didn't present significant differences among them but were with chemists treatments. The biodiversity in the system was increased in the second year of field the cultivation as a result of the decrease of chemical applications. It is feasible economically the employment of nematodes in the control of this pest.
