El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar el tiempo que es necesario mantener los residuos vegetales en contenedores herméticamente cerrados, para asegurar la eliminación de cualquier estado de desarrollo de Tuta absoluta. Los ensayos se llevaron a cabo en el centro IFAPA de La Mojonera en otoño de 2009. Los datos obtenidos indican que es necesario cubrir herméticamente los restos vegetales como mínimo durante 3 semanas, para conseguir una reducción significativa de la plaga.

The aim of this essay was to determine the necessary time for ensuring the elimination of any developmental state of Tuta absoluta while keeping the vegetal wastes into hermetically sealed containers. The trials were carried out in the IFAPA center La Mojonera in autumn 2009. The results show that it is necessary to cover hermetically the vegetal wastes during at least 3 weeks in order to obtain a significant reduction of the pest.
