In this work we try to compare the productivity of the Coturnix c. coturnix in two different systems of production. We use 60 males and 60 females. In every cage we place a male with a female. We have two batteries of 30 cages each. One of the batteries is placed in traditional conditions of production in closed environment, whereas other one is placed outdoors. Animals reproduce for 16 weeks. The total production during the period of study was 3.978 eggs. The production in the traditional closed system was 2.094 eggs and 1.884 eggs outdoors, with significant difference. The average production of eggs per female was 67,20 +/- 6,32 eggs: in the closed system it was of 69,8 +/- 4,31 eggs and 62,83 +/- 5,41 eggs outdoors, with significant difference. The curve of production of the birds was shorter in the system outdoors. The average fertility of the eggs was 61,20 +/- 4,83%. The results of fertility improved in the outdoors system.
