1978
Lamptey, P., Department of Crop Science. University of Ghana. Legon. Ghana
Leaf cells of pepper plants (Capsicumfrutescens L. cv. 'Ojenma') affected with pepper veinal mottle virus contained pinwheel, circular and tubular inclusions when examined with the electron microscope. In the tissues of infected plants, the chloroplasts were also disrupted. Numerous ribosomes were observed around the inclusions and virus-like particles were observed to be in direct association with degenerating circular inclusions.
