Preliminary investigations to the response of buffel grass (cenchrus cillarls linn) to fertilization
1969
Asare, E.O., Faculty of Agriculture, University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.
Pot experiments were conducted to study the response of Buffel grass to fertilization. The results indicated that, with the exception of Nand K, fertilization increased shoot and root production. It also increased the rate of growth of the shoot. The application of NPK gave the highest yield of shoot and root and the fastest rate of growth. The application of NP, PK and P resulted in higher yield and faster growth than the application of N, K and control. P seems to be the most important nutrient element. N depressed yield of shoot and root and the rate of growth when compared with control.
