The susceptibility of four acaricides: Coumaphos, Diazinon, Dieldrin and Cypermethrin was determined on 14-21 days old larvae of Amblyomma variegatum. The study was carried out in four cattle-rearing areas in the Accra Plains of Ghana between 5 Jul 92 and 14 Jan 94. Susceptibility was assessed by using the FAO acaricide resistant kit. Amblyomma variegatum species were resistant to Diazinonand Dieldrinatallthe foursites:Dawa, Abladzei, Shai-Hills and Odumse. Strangely, A. variegatum showed some resistance to Cypermethrin at the low concentration of 0.05 per cent at Abladzei, Shai-Hills and Odumse. Generally, all the larvaetested were highly susceptible to Coumaph
