In order to determine the effects of different levels of Nitrogen and Zinc fertilizers on the yield and protein content of new durum wheat Genotypes, a study carried out in four different dryland research stations (Maragheh, Sararood, Iilam and Lorestan) in Iran. The experiment was set up with four nitrogen fertilizer levels (0,30,60,90) kg.ha-1 and three Zinc fertilizer levels(0,5,10) kg.ha-1 with two durum Wheat Genotypes (Hurani and G1252 in Maragheh ,SYRIAN and HAYDAR in Sararood, Seimareh and Yavarous in Ilam) in factorial RCBD with four replications. For all varieties 130 kg.ha-1 of seeds were drilled by a planter and a uniform amount of P2O5 was applied to the soil as it's critical level . Nitrogen was supplied as urea, Zinc as Zinc sulphate, and phosphorus as triple super phosphate. The seed yield, protein content, and leaf concentrations of the nutrients (the flag leaf at the flowering stage) and the seed concentrations of the nutrients will be determined using standard procedures. In Maragheh the results indicated that increasing nitrogen fertilizer increased the seed and biomass yield while zinc didn't affect the yield but the fertilizers interaction increased grain and biomass yield. In other words, the application of N60zn5 had the highest grain 2012 kg.ha-1. In Ilam the results indicated that increasing nitrogen and zinc fertilizer increased the seed and biomass yield significantly so that application of N30zn5 had the highest grain 4034 kg.ha-1 and biomass yield 5098 kg.ha-1.In Sararood the results indicated that increasing nitrogen fertilizer increased the seed and biomass yield significantly while zinc didn't affect the yield and the fertilizers intraction increased grain and biomass yield so that application of N60zn5 and N90zn0 had the highest seed 3940 kg.ha-1 and biomass yield 8733 kg.ha-1.Regarding the amount of precipitation and biomass yield of different wheat varieties, application of 60 kg Nitrogen fertilizer together with 5 kg.ha-1 Zinc is recommended for durum wheat production in dry lands.
