Evaluation of Clethodim(Select) efficacy for management of sugar beet's grass weeds.

field experiments were conducted at three locations(Tehran(Karaj), Khorasan(Mashhad), and Azarbayejan(Oromiyeh)) in 2007 to evaluate sugar beet's grass weeds control by Clethodim(Select) (applied in 3 doses: 45, 100 and 140 gr ai/ha), Setoxydim(Nabus), Haloxyfop- p- methyl(Gallant super), Propaquizafop(Agil) and Quizalofop- p- ethyl(Targa super)(applied in recommended doses). The effect of Clethodim at the recommended rate on weed frequency was similar to other herbicides (no significant difference) in Tehran and khorasan. Weed dry weight reduction also were similar in all of recommended rate of herbicides. Clethodim could be applie at 100 and 140 gr ai/ha with no risk of reduced efficacy and damage on sugar beet.
