Iran with an area of about 1.62 million km2 and a popualtion of almost 70 million, is located in an arid and semi-arid region of West-Asia. Irans aquatic resources include 2,870 km of coastline along the Persian Gulf and Oman sea (1,800km), Caspaian sea(990 km). Marine fishing is an important human activity in Iran. The main resource located in Persian Gulf and Oman sea and a huge numberof fisherman harvested and capture the marine fish and shrimp. This paper is considere with the existing fishing trend in the Northen Persian Gulf, the economic status of present fisheries and its future, the measures applied by Iranian Government to sustain fishing activities, protect the very valuable resource and policies need to be more shaply geard to improve management systems to increas efficency in the capture fisheries industry and to manage fish stocks on a sustainable manner. This may require difficult economic adjustment and introduction of strict regulation regimes not only at the national level but also at the regional level, especially where straddling and shared fish resources are in place. Some recommendation and guidelines have been proposed in the paper to help the sustainabilioty of the valuable fish resources and facilitate higher profits for fisherman in the Nortern Persian Gulf.
