The whiteflies are one of the most important pests in agricultural crops and ornamental plants, and especially damage to plants in greenhouses. This group of insects have several species and genera, they attack to varieties of plants such as cucurbits, agricultural crops, as well as cotton and elm. The Aleyrodid family members damage to plants by sucking the sap which leads to honeydew production. Also the feeding of insect reduce photosynthesis and yield causes loss. Furthermore, due to fast resistance of this pest to pesticides, it is recommended non chemical control methods and other strategies like biocontrol. For reduction the insecticides usage especially in greenhouses, in this study for the first time we decided to determine the effects of ultrasound on these insects. According to the references ,there was no report from of the ultrasound usage against pests in Iran and we had to develop a new method for these experiments . Experiments carried out by ultra sounds with 0 50 decibel and 20 -100 KHz in two situation (30 and 50 cm from experimental unit). Results showed that the ultra sound with 100 KHz and 50 decibel caused whiteflies stop flying of in cages. Also these ultra sound waves did not show mortality on adults. Although acceptable results were not obtained by the present research , it was an attempt to introduce new possible tools in insect pest control.studies should go on to optimize this method few local application.
