Home economics contribution to improvement of people life: the case of Slovenia
2010
Kozina, F.L., University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). Faculty of Education
Land, water, and forests are the primary resources of agricultural production. Destructive land use practiced in the past has resulted in the present day crisis. The courses in home economics may help children think about the current problems related to our planet – the Earth. Different teaching activities provide an excellent opportunity for teaching environmental values, family resource management attitudes and behaviour to children. The present research describes, analyses and defines teaching materials and methods most appropriate for the use in home economics courses in order to encourage resource conservation and environmental protection.
