In research, analysis and classification of fish community in 142 rivers’ sections from 59 rivers of Latvia have been carried out. To identify in the Latvian rivers found fish community types, data on anthropogenic little affected or potentially affected rivers or its sections have been used for cluster analysis. Latvian river typology according to fish communities is necessary for elaboration of evaluation method of the watersheds ecological quality in accordance to the Water Framework Directive.
