The purpose of this study was to estimate the cow production (milk yield, fat and protein content) differences in different lactation month by At and A4 methods. Average productivity (5700 kg per lactation) cows of the Lithuanian Black-and-White (n=244) and Red (n=253) breeds that represent the Lithuanian cattle populations were used in this study. The cows were milked twice daily and control milkings of cows were carried out every month in each of the farms. The following data per every cow were recorded: a.m. and p.m. milk yield, interval between milkings. Milk samples were collected from every cow for estimation of the milk fat and protein contents at each milking. Preserved milk samples were analyzed at the enterprise ''Pieno tyrimai'' using Lactoscope and at the Analytical Laboratory of the LVA Institute of Animal Science using the analyzer Milko-Scan 133B. The summary of the data of milk yield, fat and protein content recorded using milk-recording methods A4 and At allows to conclude that the lactation stage of cows in the herds of different breeds has no influence on the data computed by either A4 or At methods.
