Evaluation of potential performance of xDSL technologies in the local telecommunication networks. Summary of the promotion work

The proposed work was carried out within the framework of the RTU doctoral programme in a period of time from the year 2002 till 2007. During this time in many places the telecommunications operators introduced DSL technologies on a massive scale. Since ADSL is the most common one among the xDSL technologies, the main emphasis in the work is laid just on it. This was one of the priority themes during the execution of the work because the Internet connection had to be made one of the basic services offered by the operators as soon as possible. Objective of the work: theoretical and experimental study of the dependence of the ADSL technology performance on the transmission conditions within the local cable network.
