An experiment was conducted to evaluate the variation of morphological and ecological characteristics in 8 species of wild rice. Heading date of wild rice species were distributed from September 6 to Nov 15 in Korea condition. The culm length was distributed from 19cm to 130cm and panicle length ranged from 10cm to 35cm among the species. Ratio of length and width in grain show 1.9 in Oryza officinalis and 4.2 in Oryza glumaepatula, respectively. The number of spikelets among the wild species ranged from 22 to 184. The number of large vascular bundles in peduncle had 8 and 20 in Oryza nivara and Oryza spontanea, respectively. Peduncle diameter had higher correlation with number of primary branches, number of spikelets and number of large vascular bundles in peduncles.
