Steinernema carpocapsae, a new isolate was recovered during a survey of native Entomopathogenic nematodes in soil samples from agricultural fields of banana at Thatta, Sindh. This isolate was extracted by Galleria baiting technique, identified on the basis of morphological observation and molecular studies. Steinernema carpocapsae is characterized genetically by resequence of ITS region ITS1.5.8s.ITS2 (sequence length = 9866p) Molecular studies (ITS regions of rDNA sequencing) and morphological observation are similar to S. carpocapsae but some differences in size, shape of specula etc., are present in Pakistani isolate.
