A study on ten F3 progenies was conducted for determining genetic parameters such as genetic variance, heritability estimates in broad sense and genetic gain for earliness and agro-economic traits in upland cotton. Mean squares of genotypes for all the studied traits i.e. number of bolls formed at 90 days after sowing (DAS), number of bolls opened at 90 (DAS), sympodial branches per plant, number of bolls per plant, boll weight and seedcotton yield per plant were significant. Genetic variances for most traits were about equal to their phenotypic variance, consequently exhibited maximum heritability estimates and a fair amount of genetic gains. The heritability estimates in broad sense were; 91.9, 89.5, 76.8, 98.4, 84.0 and 80.7% while genetic gains were 17.25, 2.23, 1.74, 8.44, 0.76 and 9.45 for number of bolls formed at 90 DAS, number of bolls opened at 90 DAS, sympodial branches per plant, number of bolls per plant, boll weight and seedcotton yield per plant, respectively.
