Assessment of technologies applied on silage maize-producing farms situated in central eastern Poland

The research was aimed at determining the levels of maize yields according to the agrotechnical operations applied under production conditions, and was to determine the value of energy effectiveness index of maize cultivation for green mass under the conditions of central eastern Poland. In order to detect the relationships, production technologies in individual farms were analysed by calculating the means and variability coefficients for particular characteristics. The energy effectiveness index was calculated as a ratio of energy value of the yield obtained and the total of energy outlays incurred during the production process. The survey carried out on private farms, showed a marked diversification of energy consumption of maize cultivation technologies
