The influence stubble catch crops on weed infestation of spring barley grown in monoculture

The present research aimed at evaluating the de-weeding influence of the stubble catch crops including species composition, number and weight of air-dried weeds in spring barley grown in monoculture. Type of stubble catch crop (white mustard, fiddleneck, winter rapeseed and narrow-leafed lupine with field pea), sown after barley harvest was the study factor. Mean for three years, the stubble catch crops cultivation did not cause differentiation significant of weed numbers in the spring barley canopy. The weeds air-dried weight in the spring barley canopy was significantly differentiated depending on the stubble catch crop
