Effect of fertilizer application techniques on mineral nitrogen content in soil

The objective of this study was comparison and estimation of the content mineral nitrogen in soil under conditions of pre-sowing and top-dressing fertilization. The study was conducted as a strict field experiment with maize cultivation for seeds. Two lowest content of mineral nitrogen was observed in the variant including fertilization with the water solution of urea, while the application of the solid from on N fertilizers caused a significantly higher content in the soil. The surface horizon of the soil (0-30 cm) was characterized by considerably higher content of nitrogen in relation to the deeper layers (30-60 cm and 60-90 cm)
