In this work visualization of the working environment of machine tools in real time was given, emphasised on the simulation of the NC program during triaxis milling. Analysis of the approximate and exact methods in the NC program simulation was given with all their benefits and disadvantages. Two program systems were developed: NC exact, program system based on exact method, created to operate in AutoCAD environment and NC aprox. program system based on the approximate method. Developed program system NC exact allows simulation of the numerical control program in AutoCAD environment. Simulation of the NC program with two types of tool, milling tools with flat end mill and spherical end mill was enabled. Final machined workpice presents a solid model which is suitable for subsequent analysis. Program system NC aprox was developed by using OpenGL graphical library, based on the approximation approach which permits visualisation of the working environment of the machine tool in real time. Resulted program system was based on the dexel method, reason being that the dexel structure of the tool instances does not change in the triaxis cutting process.
