Less productive agricultural soil, that is solonetz type, could be ameliorated in order to enhance usage value and broaden agricultural land. The results of 12 wheat varieties trials on solonetz soil are given in the article. Phenotypic variation of plant height and spike weight and genotype/environment interaction have been followed in one vegetation period. The results were compared on pure solonetz (control) and ameliorated solonetz (25 and 50 t/ha phosphor-gypsum) to determine effect of amelioration on these two yield components. Genotype by environment interaction was quantified using AMMI model.
