The objective of our experiment was to study the effects of rumen infusoria ecosystem stability determined with Lugol iodine chromaticity index on average milk production on 30th, 60th and 100th days of lactation and the body condition scoring (BCS). The results indicated that rumen infusorian system stability determined with Lugol iodine index of chromaticity had a vice versa influence on milk production and BCS. Farm B had less dramatic oscillations in Lugol chromacity index of infusoria compared to farm A. This resulted in lower weight loss, better milk persistency in first 100 days of lactation (3273.01+/-724.87 and 3167.57+/-386.51 kg, respectively). This may indicate that farm A was more prone to fat cow disease, ketosis and pay less attentionon on cow transition period.
