Field pea, in the form of both forage and feed pea, represents a cheap and quality supplement to soybean meal. On average, forage crude protein yield may reach 1,900 kg/ha in winter forage cultivars and more the 1,700 kg/ha in spring forage cultivars. The feed pea cultivars of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad of the latest generation, Partner, Kristal and Dukat, have average grain crude protein yields of between 1,400 kg/ha and 1,500 kg/ha.
