The reactions of F1 hybrids and their paretal clones of Lycopersicon genus to Meloidogyne incognita and M. hapla were studied in glasshouse. Groups of five plants of each species were planted in plastic pots containing 12 cubic dm of steam sterilized sandy soil and artificially infested with 10000 eggs and juveniles of each nematode population per plant. The species Lycopersicon hirsutum f. glabratum and f. typicum were resistant to Meloidogyne populations tested. L. peruvianum and L. chilense were resistant to M. incognita and susceptible to M. hapla. Among the F1 hybrids only Bulgarian-Dutch hybrid No 965 was resistant to M. incognita and susceptible to M. hapla. The remaining hybrids and cultivars were susceptible to nematode populations tested. Mi-gene activity is not completely transferred from parents to hybrids.
