To be suitable for ensilage, the alfalfa and orchard grass should have corresponding content of soluble sugar and dry matter and, low buffer capacity. In the less suitable crops, the content of dry matter should be increased by adding sugar components and ferments. This helps maintaining the fermentation process and, by that, creating stable and quality silage.
