In this paper there are presented results of using different products based on soybean in the feeding of high producing cows. Those results suggest that raw soybean can be used in maximum daily amount of 2 kg as well as heat treated (toasted, extruded) soybean in amount of 3 kg per cow. High content of oil (18-20%) and unsaturated fatty acids in soybean may have unfavourable effect on development of microorganisms in rumen as well as it can lead to lower milk fat content. The usage of soybean cake enables achieving of better results comparing to extruded soybean or soybean based by-products obtained in the process of chemical extraction of oil. Alongside with increased milk production (1.5 kg per cow, daily) it leads to higher content of fat and protein in milk, as well as it enables higher consistence of pH in rumen, greater number of microorganisms in rumen and lower MUN. It can be concluded that the soybean cake is superior source of energy and protein for highly producing dairy cows.
