Production of compost, from natural cattle manure, as a mixture of solid manure and straw, is new process in our conditions. The method of natural manure aerobic treatment was applied for composting. Treatment period was shortened by application of the thermophilic microorganisms. Changes of the main production parameters, during the treatment, were monitored, such as: temperature, mass, average density, dry organic matter, porosity, pH value, N content in compost and C:N ratio. Results of thermophilic bacteria isolation and identification are presented. By isolate identification, the presence of Bacillus licheniformis , Bacillus pumulus and Bacillus amyloliquefaciens bacteria was noted. Those bacteria, through its enzyme activity, can cause the acceleration of the organic matter degradation process, in manure, which enables better quality compost production.
