The rainfall regime in two agro-climatic regions in Serbia covering the periods 1950-1979, 1966-2008 and the last decade of the latter period were estimated in this study. The first period was marked by the uniformity of annual rainfall distribution relative to the occurrence of two primary and secondary average monthly rainfall maxima and minima. Total annual rainfall increased in the last decade as compared to the average rainfall. However, the annual rainfall distribution lacked uniformity in that a monthly increase in rainfall was observed in September for all stations and an increase in rainfall occurred in June and July in the Backa region, as opposed to the decrease in western Serbia.
