During the hunting season 2009-2010 Institute of Veterinary Medicine of Serbia collected 115 sera samples from wild boars. Samples originating from the Central Serbia and represent 3% of hunting bag. All sera were tested for antibodies to Porcine Reproductive Respiratory Syndrome Virus (PRRSV), Swine Influenza Virus (SIV), Pseudorabies Virus (PRV), Transmissible Gastroenteritis Virus (TGEV), and Porcine Parvovirus (PPV). Commercial ELISA kits were used for PRRS, TGEV-PRCV, SIV and PRV while HI test was used for PPV testing. After serological investigations, there were found that specific antibodies against PRV are present in 14.8% of tested wild boar sera while antibodies against PPV were found in 49.5% of tested samples. Immune responses against PRRSV, TGEV and SIV were not detected. In this paper, we are reporting examination of viral disease presence in wild boar population of Serbia.
