Sulphonamides have significant role in the treatment of bacterial diseases. Their use in veterinary medicine is widespread, particularly as mass medicine for the control of disease in food producing species. In combination with inhibitor of dihydrofolate reductase - trimethoprim, they can be very effective in intestinal infections, mastitis and pneumonia. The purpose of this paper is detection of sulphonamides in feedstuffs. The presence of sulphonamides was determined by the ELISA (screening) and LC-MS/MS (confirmatory) testing methods. 55 different samples were tested. According to the ELISA method, we had 9 positive samples. By using the LC-MS/MS method the presence of sulphonamides was not detected.
