In the area of the county Pcinja corn is leading field crops. Of the total area under the plow land is about 15%, or about 12,500 ha per year. Through Pcinja district pass the main road, railway, and highway in the lenght of about 90 km from Predejane to Presevo. Although corn in this area, until now, was not particularly at risk of plant diseases and pests, expert service, following the state of crops during the growing season, as well as the emergence and spread of harmful organisms noted, symptoms and damage to corn, which are similar to damage caused by Diabrotica virgifera virgifera La Conte.
