[Immune response of chickens to turkey herpes virus]

The dynamics of postvaccinal immunocompetent cells response (ICR) and the intensity of antibody formation to Marek's disease vaccine on the basis of turkey herpes virus were studied in SPF chicks and broiler chicks. ICR was estimated by the lymphocyte migration inhibition test (LMIT) to determine antigen-induced migration level (ML). It was found that at day 28 after vaccination ML in SPF-chicks was 0.38, in broiler chicks – 0.13. The indirect solid-phase immunosorbent assay was used to estimate the postvaccinal humoral immunity stress. In SPF chicks at day 7 after vaccination the average antibody titer was 1:190 and by day 63 reached 1:1345. The 7-day-old broiler chickens having the average titer of transovarian antibodies 1:8590 demonstrated the active immune response induced at day 35 corresponding to the titer 1:358 which by day 56 reached 1:2692. Coefficients of correlation between lymphocyte migration inhibition test and indirect solid-phase immunosorbent assay were determined and at the phase of the development of active immune response in SPF-chicks and broiler chicks the made up 0.814 and 0.840, respectively.
