The experiment included field trials carried out the in the farm of faculty of Agriculture, Omdurman Islamic University _ Alfattahab. In the growing season 2006-2007. The experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of chicken manure on growth and yield of two varieties of sunflower. Treatment include fertilizers, T1 23kg/N, T2 chicken manure (2 ton/fed) T3 chicken manure (2.5 ton/fed) T0 without fertilization as a control. Also two varieties were used in this study namely V2 Hysun33 and V1 pannar38. The experiment had been conducted in four replicates (4X4X2) in (FRCBD). Measurement taken include both the vegetative and reproductive growth, vegetative growth, plant height, and stem diameter, No. of leaves/plant, vegetative growth period, included yield and yield components head diameter, weight of seeds and number of seed. The statistical analysis indicated that the treatment of chicken manure had significant affect the vegetative growth period, plant height, No. of seeds/head, head diameter, weight of 1000 seeds. The highest yield was obtained by treatment 2.5T/fed chicken manure than 2 ton/fed or nitrogen fertilizers. The variety Hysun 33(V2) recorded the significantly highest yield compared with pannar 38(V1) and also for all other parameter in this study
