Three pyrethroid insecticides were evaluated by Mahadi M. Zein in season 2006/07 at Sinnar Research Station Farm for the control of insect pests on tomato: 1. Razitol 20% EC (fenpropathrin); (RS)- a - cyano - 3 phenoxybenzyl 2, 2, 3, 3-tetramelhyl cyclopropanecarboxylate. The WHO classifies fenpropathrin as class II toxin with oral acute LD50 of 70.6 (male) and 66.7 mg/kg female rat. 2. Kung Fu 5% EC (lambda-cyhalothrin); (RS) - a - cyano - phenoxybenzyl - 3 - (2 - chloro - 3, 3, 3- trifluoro propenyl) - 2, 2- dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylate. The oral LD50 (rat) for lambda-cyhalothrin is 79 and 56 mg/kg for male and female rats, respectively (WHO class II toxin). 3- Karate 10% CS (lambda-cyhalothrin); with the same chemical name and toxicity as Kung Fu 5% EC. The present report describes the fate and determines the pre-harvest interval of the three insecticides after treatment to control insect pests of tomato
