The following soft scales and mealybugs were recorded in Slovenia as minor pests on vine: cottony maple scale (Neopulvinaria innumerabilis (Rathvon)), cottony grape scale (Pulvinaria vitis (Linnaeus)), brown scale (Parthenolecanium corni (Bouché)) and mediterranean vine mealybug (Planococcus ficus (Signoret). Larger damage caused by cottony maple scale has been observed in vineyards of Primorska (Coastal) wine region (South-western Slovenia). The results of the trials against larvae and overwintering females demonstrated that only the products containing diazinon were effective enough, while the products containing chlorpyriphos-methyl and chlorpyriphos-ethyl, as well as oil products alone only partly reduced the population of cottony maple scale.
