The aim of our study was to monitor the presence of maduramycin and narasin/nicarbasin residues in the tissues of chickens and pheasants after oral administration up to day 5 of the withdrawal period. The following tissues were examined: breast and thigh muscle, liver, lungs, kidneys, gizzard, heart and spleen. The residues were detected by the STAR method with Bacillus stearothermophilus var. calidolactis test strain. The dynamics of the residual degradation of anticoccidials mentioned above was evaluated on the basis of the diameters of inhibition zones. During the monitoring period we obtained statistically significant changes in the diameters of inhibition zones. We detected that the concentration of the residues didnt decrease gradually throughout the withdrawal period, and even in a lot of cases the inhibition zones were larger at the end of withdrawal period than at its beginning.
