Analysis made in set of chosen agriculture companies in Slovakia shows the amount growth of purchase costs and also revenues in the examined period (2004–2008). As a result there are demanding requirements for inputs purchase in crop production and on the other hand animal production affords higher revenues. Efficiency of means expended on inputs purchase explained by revenues value in Slovak crowns for 1 Slovak crown of purchase costs is higher in animal production. Unfavourable production conditions maen lower purchase costs but also revenues decrease and purchase costs efficiency falling-off. Purchase and sale importance is different in individual production branches. Purchasing and sale activities are very important in poultry breeding. They are relatively less important in the beef-raising and sheepfarming.
