Experiments presented in this paper were aimed to assess the effects of the alginite and Stockosorb on growth and development of 4 years old Norway spruce (Picea abies [L.] Karst.)plants after reforestation. The soil conditioner alginite slightly positively influences the growth Norway spruce plants, influence of Stockosorb was most negatively. The soil additives were applied to the every plant by dibbing: alginite (500 g), Stockosorb (300 ml). The best result of height of aboveground part, l-year increament and diameter of root crown was achieved by content of alginite in first two vegetation periods. The average values of the investigated growth characteristics of Norway spruce plants suggest worsened results with application of Stockosorb. The results of one-way analysis of variance for the average values of all weight characteristic of Norway spruce plants was approved statistically differences for Stockosorb treatment, but application of alginite by dibbing caused tenuous positive differences in aid of alginite. The alginite and Stockosorb belong to perspective preparations with good waterbearing capacity. The use of this hydrophilic soil amendments is advisable wherever threaten with rainfall and water deficit.
