The paper summarises results of a more detailed monitoring of genus Armillaria in the Kysuce region (NW Slovakia). The species of ca 200 samples was determined according to the species-specific fragments of DNA determined by means of PCR-RFLP analysis. We confirmed the presence of three Armillaria species: Armillaria ostoyae, Armillaria cepistipes, Armillaria gallica. Armillaria ostoyae was the most frequent one, followed by A. cepistipes. All three species were present as active parasites of Norway spruce as well as of common beech in the studied area.
