Screening test of papers impregnated with solution of bacterium Bacillus subtilis with different concentrations against the growth of wood-destroying fungi Coniophora puteana, Trametes versicolor, Poria vaillantii and against the growth of mould Aspergillus niger was researched in this work. We observed slowing down of wood-destroying fungi growth and stopped the mould growth caused by antagonistic effect of compouds produced by the bacterium Bacillus subtilis. The main effect was observed after the test lasted for 7 days. The minimum effect on growth af wood-destroying fungi was observed after 14 days of the test. This effect can be used for protection of freshly cut wood against the mould attack before drying process and some possibility for delay of attack of wood-destroying fungi has been shown.
