This paper presents some researched results based on the Authors's software (Hydraulic overflowing dam _ TLDT) for analysis strengths and weaknesses of WES and Ophixerov type through simulation shape of section, discharge over spillway sam. Researched results have also been applied to Nuoc trong spillway dam with testing of physical hydraulic model. Researched results shown the WES section has a smaller area but a bigger discharge. So application WES section in the world and in Vietnam in recent times is logical. However, there's not any standard or specification of this type for using. So researching the discharge over WES spillway dam is necessary
