New technology in building the concrete arch dam

Newaday, arch dam is one type of dam which is applied widely because of its safe and cost. Most arch dam was built using conventional concrete; in the casting process to control concrete temperature, the method of casting each concrete block was done. However, this way takes long construction time for curing and setting the temperature slot. Roller Compacted Concrete (RCC), High-Performance Concrete with MgO (HPCMgO), and Rock Filling Concrete (self-compacting concrete fill in the void of rock) are concretes using for the new kind of casting concrete which not only help reduce time of executing, construction-cost, but also meet all technical requirements in durability and stability. From the lab-experiments and field-experiences, this article introduces step by step each new kind of casting concrete process named above.
