Streng analyis of concrete faced rockfill Dam by fem with interaction algorithm

Concrete face is very important of concrete faced rock-fill dam. Thus, the safety of stability of concrete surface is very important for both permeability prevention and stabilization of a dam. However, due to the difference of material between the concrete suface and adjacent layer, it is difficult to simulate the rock-fill dam in designing. In the conventional designs, it is assumed that the concrete surface and the rock are tightly connected to ensure the continuous displacemen between them. This assumption itself leads to the limitation in simulating real work of the dam. This article takes the interaction between these parts into consideration in calculation to make theoretical model more practical.
