STUDY ON IN VITRO PROPAGATION OF APRICOT | ПРОУЧВАНИЯ ВЪРХУ IN VITRO РАЗМНОЖАВАНЕ НА КАЙСИЯ

In vitro propagation of fruit tree species, including fruit tree cultivars, has been widely applied on a world scale. The reasons for that are the major advantages of the micropropagated own-rooted planting material – shortening the production cycle by a year, avoiding the precision of grafting, virus elimination and obtaining healthy plants. The aim of the present investigation referred to studies on the technological process at the initial stages of in vitro propagation of apricot cultivars. The following factors for obtaining sterile culture were observed: time of setting, the type of the explant and the means of disinfection. At the stage of multiplication, the major nutrient medium used was MS with an increasing concentration of ВАР varying within 0.3–1.2 mg/l. Further to that, the mean number of shoots per explant, the total number of the leaves formed and the average height of the stem part were analyzed. Virus-free vital plants could be obtained when setting the explants at the end of April and the beginning of May, disinfected with 5-7% calcium and sodium hypochloride for 5–7 minutes. Good vital status of the microplants, expressed in an actively growing tip and an optimal coefficient of proliferation, was established in the presence of BAP 0.5–0.8 mg/l.
