Results of study of the reproductive indexes of breeding sows after introduction of feed additive L-carnitine in the dose of 50mg/kg in their diets in the last third part of pregnancy and its influence on blood biochemical indexes realized in the conditions of the Republic of Belarus were presented. Research results showed, that application of L-carnitine promoted the increasing of growth intensity, live weight gain, multiple fetation, heavy litter, and litter weight after farrowing. Increased concentrations of crude protein, albumin, globulins and glucose in blood serum of pregnant sows point at improvement of metabolic processes and increasing of fetus supply with energy and nutritive substances. Addition of L-carnitine into pregnant sow diets promoted better nutrition and accumulation of calcium and phosphorous. Content of total calcium in blood serum of the experimental sows increased on 14,5% (2,62 mM/l); simultaneously there was noted the lowering of inorganic phosphorous on 20,9%, and activity of alkaline phosphatase on 10,8%. The level of glucose of experimental sows increased up to 5,5 mM/l, that was on 15,1% higher than in control group. Pregnant sows of experimental groups provided the developing embryos with the mentioned above substances due to their presence in feed additive but not be means the reserves of bone tissues
