The analysis of 625 farrows in a large pig-breeding complex in the Republic of Belarus showed that 14% of animals had delay of sexual cycles after piglets weaning. The reasons were the defects of steroid-genesis and reduction of the level of sexual hormones in blood, resulting from changes in potassium/sodium exchange, as well as deviations from norm in the content of serum proteins and morphological composition of blood. A lower content of estradiol (according to the background), progesterone and gamma-globulins and a higher content of potassium in blood serum on the fourth day after piglets weaning can serve as a test for the forecasting delay in sexual heat. Supplying of 600 sows with heat delay with sexual hormones helped to develop its signs during 7 days in 85% of animals.
