The description of the dynamics of postnatal hystogenesis of somatic muscles of cross Cobb-500 broiler chickens applying morphometric and ultra-structural methods is given. Cytoarchitecture of the one-day aged chicken's leg muscles in the transverse section is displayed. Cytoarchitecture of the 35-days aged broiler chicken's leg muscles in the lengthwise section is photographed. Morphometric characteristics of the breast and leg muscles of the broiler chickens of the Cobb-500 cross are shown. Among them are: muscle fiber area, muscle nucleus area, muscle nucleus diameter, number of nuclei per 1mm of the muscle fiber. Quantitative characteristics of the muscle fascicles of the broiler's skeleton muscles are shown. The differences in the indices of muscles growth in respect of age periods and also in the enlargement of a chicken chest and leg muscles are identified. As a result of electronic and microscope research there are established that muscle fibers of the one-day aged broiler chicken rather differ from adult muscles by construction and arrangement of the structural components. Final maturation of the muscle fibers happens up to 35 day of the development.
