Vegetative productivity of black currant (Ribes nigrum) plants grown from meristem tips in vitro culture in conditions of greenhouse was studied in the Republic of Belarus. Virus-free plants of black currants after two years of cultivation in containers showed an increase of parameters of vegetative development: number of shoots per plant, number of standard cuttings, length and diameter of shoots. Cultivars Volshebnitsa, Orloviya and Klussonovskaya had higher numbers of standard cuttings. Vegetative productivity of the majority of black currants cultivars decreased after three years of cultivation in the greenhouse conditions. Only cultivars Belorusskaya Sladkaya, Pamyat Vavilova and Zagadka had increased numbers of shoots per plant; and cultivars Belorusskaya Sladkaya and Zagadka also showed an increase of total quantity of standard cutting. The maximum quantity of standard cuttings per one bush in course of three-year cultivation period was marked at Volshebnitsa variety (17,4 pieces; 24,5; and 23,5 pieces) and Orloviya variety (13,1 pieces; 23,2; and 18,6 pieces).
