In the conditions of the Republic of Belarus there was examined the character of changes of hematological indicators and the level of reproductive ability of first-calving cows with retention of placenta with conservative method of treatment. There was noted a close correlation with a number of examined indicators of blood. In course of the study there were analyzed the following blood indexes of experimental animals: erythrocyte content and hemoglobin concentration; content of thrombocytes; content of leukocytes blood leucogram. There was analyzed the reproductive ability of experimental animals (total number of impregnate cows; number of inseminated cows after the first insemination; insemination index, etc.). With increased average-cell concentration of hemoglobin before calving, the interval before fertilization decreased. Interval decrease was related also to the increase of compact volume of platelets and the content of segment-nuclear neutrophils on the 40-45th day after calving. Increased number of young neutrophils in after-birth period and of myelocytes on the 40-45th day after calving was accompanied by an increase of this indicator and insemination index.
